Project P.L.A.Y School, a unique play-based pre-school for children, is now enrolling for Summer/Fall 2017 at its home at Bok in South Philadelphia.
Rooted in the Reggio Emilia approach of emergent curriculum and constructivist education, Project P.L.A.Y. (Partners in Learning About You) creates sincere relationships with children, families and community built on mutual respect, commitment and joy.
Project P.L.A.Y. at Bok offers full-time pre-school options with extended hours for children ages 27 months through 5 years. Bok is a natural fit for the Philadelphia location given the space's long history as an educational space and its current home for many artists, makers, and community members. Project P.L.A.Y.'s space at Bok includes light-filled classrooms and a dedicated outdoor natural playscape designed as part of Bok's South Philly Stoop project.
Under the direction of longtime educators Karen Chayot and Kathy Goldenberg, Project P.L.A.Y opened in Fall 2016 in Philadelphia. Chayot and Goldenberg offer consulting and professional development opportunities for teachers and schools around the region.
At the open house on January 28, parents and children will see the classrooms, outdoor space, meet teachers and the school's directors. Applications will be available in-person and are also online.
